CINE 325 classes (“Focus on . . .” classes) are one-unit, CR-NC, GE courses. These classes are open to all majors, and there are no prerequisites. There are no textbooks, but students must come to class prepared to take notes. The courses usually require writing a short (3 page) paper or a multiple-choice test.
Each course takes place one weekend (Friday 4-10pm, Saturday 9am-5pm)* during the semester. YOU MUST ATTEND BOTH DAYS TO RECEIVE CREDIT FOR THE COURSE. Specific dates can be found in the class schedule:
- Find the section you would like to register for.
- Look at the link above the instructor's name. It will say "01, 25, A, #, GE," where "#" stands for a letter, usually B-G.
- Click the link, which will take you to the bottom of the page. Find the letter that corresponds to whatever letter was before the "GE." This will list the days of this course.
- Once you have registered for the course, the days and times will be listed in your current class schedule in MySFSU.
Up to three units of CINE 325 may be counted towards the cinema degree, but they must be on varied topics. (I.e., You cannot take the “Focus on Science-Fiction” course more than once, unless you receive a grade of "NC"). CINE 325 can be taken a fourth time for an elective unit towards university requirements for graduation [120 units].
*Focus on Emerging Cinemas, offered in the Spring, is three days long (Friday, Saturday & Sunday). See current class schedule for details.
