Although many Community Colleges, Junior Colleges, and other Universities offer courses similar to Cine 200 and Cine 202, the Cinema Department usually accepts only courses with official articulation agreements as equivalent to 200 and 202. You can determine if your school has an articulation agreement with SFSU by going to Assist. Similar courses from 4-year universities can sometimes be accepted, but only with the approval of a Cinema Department advisor (see “transfer credits” below). Cinema also offers exemption exams for both Cine 200 and Cine 202 at the start of every Fall and Spring semester. Students who pass the exemption exam for either course will be exempted from taking the course in question.
I already took courses like CINE 200 and 202 at my junior/community college or university. Why are you making me take them again?
