  • Completed applications and a Choice Form are due to FA 422 by MONDAY, APRIL 28th, 5:00pm

Covers the aesthetics and production techniques of filmmaking using digital tools and processes.
CINE 510 Directing Wed 1-7 Goldner
Covers the function of the Director, the manipulation of space and time, problems of continuity, script planning and blocking, handling crew. This class is a laboratory.
CINE 519 Soundstage Workshop Sat 9/13, 10a-5p TBD
Covers safety and operation of Cinema Soundstage. Students taking this course are expected to serve as Soundstage Managers for Fall 2008.

Conceptualization, production, and presentation of cinema using interactive digital tools and processes.

Documentary for Social Justice

This is a collaborative class between Cinema and Public Health in which students will research the role of social and economic conditions as a cause of disease and disability, learn to use the medium of Cinema to participate in public dialogue, and examine how documentary can be used as a community-building tool. Students will complete pre-production, production, and post production on a social issue documentary.

Introduction to contemporary 2D digital practices in narrative, documentary, and experimental animation. Theory in relation to animation vocabulary combined with hands-on digital projects.
CINE 595 Visual Anthropology TBD Biella
Introduction to ethnographic digital video production. This course is coupled with a Spring 2008 course. An application for this course represents a commitment to also take the Spring 2008 editing course.
CINE 620 Advanced 16mm Production Fri 9-4, Mon 9-12 TBD
Narrative short film production. Each 620 student goes through script development, pre-production, and production on their own 16mm short film. An application for this course represents a commitment to also take the Spring 2008 editing course.
